1. What is the NASRDA / GBB Skill Empowerment Initiative?

The NASRDA / GBB Skill Empowerment Initiative is a collaborative program between the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA) and the Grassroot Bridge Builders (GBB).
It was established to empower Nigerian and African youths with digital, vocational, entrepreneurial, and agribusiness skills, equipping them to become self-reliant, innovative, and economically productive.


2. What are the main objectives of this initiative?

Our main objectives are to:

  • Provide high-quality digital and vocational training to youths.

  • Promote entrepreneurship and startup development.

  • Support women and girl-child empowerment.

  • Offer mentorship, funding, and job placement opportunities.

  • Build a sustainable bridge between education and employment in Africa.


3. Who can participate in the program?

The program is open to all Nigerian and African youths, particularly:

  • Students and graduates seeking employable skills.

  • Unemployed individuals looking to start small businesses.

  • Women and young girls interested in empowerment and inclusion programs.

  • Artisans, farmers, and creative minds who want to improve their trade.


4. Is this program free or paid?

Many of our foundational training programs are completely free, especially those sponsored by the government or donors.
However, some specialized or advanced training programs may require a minimal registration or participation fee, especially when external certification or materials are involved.
All costs (if applicable) will be clearly stated on the program registration page.


5. Do participants receive a certificate after training?

βœ… Yes. All successful participants receive an official certificate of participation and completion, issued jointly by NASRDA and GBB.
The certificate validates your acquired skills and can be used for employment, business registration, or funding applications.

8. Can I apply from outside Nigeria?

Yes! The platform is open to all Africans.
You can participate in online programs from any country. However, some physical training or empowerment events may only be available to residents within Nigeria.


9. How long does each training last?

Training duration depends on the program.

  • Short-term courses: 2–4 weeks.

  • Intermediate programs: 1–3 months.

  • Comprehensive skill or entrepreneurship courses: 3–6 months.
    Participants receive orientation details and timelines after successful registration.


10. How does the empowerment or funding process work?

After completing a program, eligible beneficiaries may apply for empowerment grants or funding.
Selection is based on:

  • Completion of training

  • Submission of a viable business or project proposal

  • Verification by our review team

  • Availability of funds under that cycle

Successful applicants receive funding directly or through verified empowerment partners.


11. What is the role of NASRDA in this partnership?

NASRDA, as a government agency, provides technical infrastructure, innovation framework, and institutional credibility to the platform.
It ensures that all operations align with Nigeria’s national vision for Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI), helping to create a knowledge-based economy.


12. What is the role of GBB in the partnership?

Grassroot Bridge Builders (GBB) is responsible for community engagement, program design, outreach, and implementation at the grassroots level.
GBB connects communities, donors, and partners to ensure the initiative reaches those who need it most.


13. Is NASRDA / GBB affiliated with the government?

βœ… Yes. NASRDA operates directly under the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science and Technology of Nigeria.
GBB is a recognized development organization working in close collaboration with government agencies and private partners to deliver youth empowerment initiatives.


14. Can NGOs, companies, or cooperatives partner with NASRDA / GBB?

Absolutely! We welcome partnerships with:

15. How do I become a mentor or volunteer trainer?

If you have professional experience in business, technology, agriculture, or community development, you can become a mentor or volunteer.

Selected mentors are onboarded through a formal screening and induction process.


16. How can I verify if an email, SMS, or message is from NASRDA / GBB?

We never request personal financial details through unofficial channels.

After registration, you will receive login details to your NASRDA / GBB e-learning portal.
You can then access:

  • Your courses and training materials

  • Certificates (after completion)

Graduates receive access to:
